Estate Jewelry in Kansas City

What is Estate Jewelry?

Many people assume that ‘estate jewelry’ must have come from an estate or an estate sale, but that’s not the case! Instead, the term ‘estate jewelry’ refers to any piece of fine jewelry that has had a previous owner. It can be a hundred years old, fifty years old, or five years old–as long as someone else wore and loved it before you did, it’s still estate jewelry.

What is Vintage Jewelry?

Vintage jewelry has a more restrictive definition. While there is no universally accepted time frame, most jewelers agree that, in order to be considered vintage jewelry, a piece must be at least 50 years old. Pieces over 100 years old are typically referred to as ‘antique jewelry.’
Vintage jewelry comes in many shapes and styles. Jewelers often categorize these pieces by era. Each era had its own fascinating trends. For instance, the Art Deco Era of the 1920s and 1930s featured bold colors and geometric patterns. Regardless of what era your jewelry comes from, we’d love to see it!

How to sell vintage jewelry

How to Sell Estate Jewelry

Selling your estate or vintage jewelry is easier than you may think. After you’ve decided on which pieces you would like to sell to us, give us a call to set up an appointment.
At the appointment, we’ll start by performing an appraisal to determine the value of your pieces. We’ll consider many factors, including the overall quality and craftsmanship of the piece, as well as current market prices for the materials used in the piece.
Once we’ve finished the appraisal, we’ll offer you the best possible price for your jewelry. If you’re happy with that price, you can sell it to us on the spot!

Why Sell Your Estate Jewelry?

We know that your fine jewelry still has value to you, even when you don’t wear it anymore. If you have pieces you inherited or bought long ago that don’t suit your tastes, why not pass them on for someone else to fall in love with? You might think of selling your jewelry as an ending of sorts, but when you sell a piece of vintage or estate jewelry to us, you’re actually starting a new chapter in your jewelry’s story. Plus, you’ll get paid in return.

What We Buy

We buy fine jewelry, meaning pieces made from precious metals (such as gold, silver or platinum) and authentic diamonds and gemstones. We also buy high quality pre-owned watches. We don’t buy costume jewelry. We won’t take loose diamonds or gems, or badly broken or damaged jewelry, for our estate collection. However, you can still sell it to us to be used for other purposes (see our gold buying page for more information).
