What Is Permanent Jewelry?

Permanent jewelry is delicate, custom fitted jewelry that is lightly welded around the wrist (or ankle, or neck–wherever you would like to wear it). Because it has no clasps or hooks, it can’t be easily removed. It’s meant to be worn for a long time, so the designs are simple and meant to complement any outfit in your wardrobe.

Many people get permanent jewelry with friends, relatives, or other special people in their lives. Think of it like an elevated, grown-up version of a friendship bracelet! You can get ‘linked’ on your own, with one friend or with a whole group. Permanent jewelry parties are a sweet and thoughtful way to celebrate a bachelorette party, a graduation, or a special anniversary.
It’s gorgeous, effortless and very hard to lose, making it a great way to treat yourself to a new accessory.

How Does Permanent Jewelry Work?

Getting permanent jewelry is easy, safe and, most importantly, fun! The entire process only takes a few minutes. You’ll pick a chain and decide where you want to weld it. Then, a jeweler will place a protective pad against your skin. They will use a precision jewelry welder to quickly and carefully solder the chain around your wrist. It’s quick and completely painless. You’ll see a flash of light, hear a small ‘zap,’ and that’ll be all!

Does Permanent Jewelry Really Last Forever?

Permanent jewelry is meant to last a long time, and if you take good care of it, you can wear it for years. But, as with all jewelry, it’s not invincible.

Because permanent jewelry is made of durable metals like gold or silver, it should hold up well throughout most everyday activities. However, it can break during strenuous activities. If you have a very hands-on job or participate in contact sports, it might not be ideal for you. You should also be careful not to snag, pull on, or hit your jewelry against anything.

If your jewelry breaks, you can return to Noe’s Jewelry to have it re-welded.

Can I Remove It If I Need To?

Yes, you can remove it if you need to. Snipping the chain at the welding point with a pair of sharp scissors will do the trick, but please be careful when you do so! If you are uncomfortable cutting your jewelry on your own, please bring it into Noe’s and we will happily assist you.

Is Permanent Jewelry Safe?

The permanent jewelry process is very safe when done by professional jewelers. Our jewelers are experienced professionals trained to handle welding tools. They have all of the necessary safety equipment and plenty of experience.

There is one important safety measure to consider before getting permanent jewelry: be sure you aren’t allergic to any metals. We use only 14k yellow gold and white gold in our jewelry, which is very unlikely to cause a skin reaction. However, it’s still possible to be allergic to the materials in gold alloy.

If you’ve ever had a reaction to gold jewelry, please avoid getting gold permanent jewelry. If you aren’t sure whether or not you’re allergic, please consult with a dermatologist to confirm before you get permanent jewelry. We want your experience to leave you with a smile, not an itchy wrist!

How Much Does It Cost?

Our permanent jewelry starts at $90. The price will vary depending on which type of gold you choose, which chain style you choose, and the length of chain needed to make your permanent jewelry.
